Cosmetic packaging material injection color matching pigment classification

Update:04 Dec 2020
According to the classification of cosmetic packaging materials, general internal packaging materials can be divided into three parts according to their main manufacturing processes: molding process, surface and graphic processing process, and assembly process. Plastic color matching is a colorant, which is mainly divided into pigments (pigments are colorants that cannot be dissolved in common solvents, so to obtain ideal coloring performance, it is necessary to use mechanical heating and kneading to uniformly disperse the pigments in the plastic) and dye .
Classification of injection color matching pigments for cosmetic packaging materials:
1. Inorganic pigments: good thermal stability, very good weather resistance, excellent light stability, low price and superior dispersion performance. For example: titanium dioxide, carbon black, etc.
2. Organic pigments: high tinting power, bright color, complete chromatogram, low relative density, small addition amount. The disadvantage is that its heat resistance, weather resistance and hiding power are not as good as inorganic pigments, poor dispersion effect, poor transparency relative to dyes, and higher prices. Mainly used in POM, PE, PP, TPU, TPE and other crystalline materials and some bright products (bright color products that cannot be achieved by dyes)

3. Dyestuff: It can be used in most solvents and organic compounds of dyed plastics. The advantages are low density, high coloring power and good transparency. The disadvantage is that its general molecular structure is small, and it is prone to migration during coloring (crystalline material). The price is more expensive than inorganic, and the price of some is close to that of organic pigments.

4. Pearlescent pigment: also called mica titanium pearlescent pigment, it is a kind of mica wafer coated with titanium dioxide. According to different hue, it can be divided into three types: silver-white pearlescent pigments, rainbow pearlescent pigments, and colored pearlescent pigments.

In the application of cosmetic packaging materials, plastic color matching is one of the main coloring processes. Because of its low cost and convenient coloring method, it is popular among market users. In the classification of cosmetic packaging materials, various bottle caps, pump heads, bottles, lipstick tubes and other processes have applications.
